Personally I believe that God places us with people who are the opposite of ourselves to teach us, and then puts us with someone just like us only more extreme so that we can find our place of balance.
It is our job to be aware of what has been put before us and examine it to see what we can learn and how we can have a positive effect on others.
I have not always liked some of the people in my life but because of who they are , I have made choices for my life that helped me in some way. Often they can teach us what not to do, or who we do not want to be. Compassion, becomes a foundational principle to live by, because when we see others faults and gifts , we see ourselves's.
