Understanding Yourself

Who are you?, What makes you do the things you do ? What do you believe about Life? And what is your purpose? Every day we make choices that produce results and often we are unaware of why we do what we do. In order to master yourself and be pro-active with your Life producing something of value that is worth reproducing we must understand the environment we have been placed in and our own make-up. As believers we have an identity in Christ but knowing is not enough. Results require action, or evaluated and measured practice. Are you aware of your personality type, your learning style, your love language, your gifts and talents, your strengths and weaknesses. How about your stumbling blocks and blind spots that keep you from moving forward. Are you stagnant in your personal growth, have you taken an assessment of your daily routine , and have you laid out a plan for success?

Everything you and I do will only be as good as what we put in and how we choose to process the information. We are called by God to be an expression of Jesus but we must learn to value ourselves so that as we become confident in our identity in Christ we can add to everything and everyone around us.

Wrong thinking has gotten us to the place where we realize our need for change. These are daily disciplines needed for lasting change. Daily consistent behaviors lead to new habits that at first seem difficult but soon become easy and a natural part of your daily Life.

This is an example of choosing life. Living life in a way that supports you and the world around you.Start a daily journal and split the paper down the center. Start recording your negative thoughts on one side and the new thinking positive life producing thoughts on the other. Write down what was going on at the time and how you can plan to respond differently in the future.

Guilt is a wasted emotion that holds us in a locked position. As we learn to re-frame our perspective on Life we can forgive and realize that everything that we go through can benefit us as we learn the valuable lessons. I can be thankful for what I learn because it goes with me into eternity. I can use these lessons to help others giving me greater purpose in Life.
